Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) is the refined cotton after crushing and sodium hydroxide (liquid alkali) solution for alkalization reaction, then add a methane chloride + propylene oxide, etherification reaction, form HPMC preliminary product. After neutralization (pH value adjustment), pressure filter, drying, grinding, screening to obtain a certain degree of fineness of HPMC pure products. The finished product has a slight smell of methane.
